Home and community care providers looking to stay at the forefront of the once in a generation aged care reforms, can get a head start by accessing a series of crucial home care webinars, workshops and bootcamps.
The ‘Leading the way in home care’ professional development program has been carefully curated by Australia’s peak aged care body, the Aged & Community Care Providers Association (ACCPA), to help prepare the sector for rapid growth and legislative reforms.
ACCPA CEO Tom Symondson said: “ACCPA’s ‘Leading the way in home care’ program is designed to support home care providers to build the capability of their workforce to meet challenges head on.
“In coming decades, more and more older Australians will want to receive care services in their home to support their wellbeing as they age, yet, we will have fewer working-age people to support this demand,” he said.
The ability to attract, recruit and retain home care workers brings challenges for the aged care sector, but also an opportunity to innovate and re-design aged care in new and exciting ways.
“Many older Australians are savvy consumers, switched on and committed to maximising their years of good health, opting to maintain their independence as long as possible and receive care services at home.”
“Our sessions are led by industry experts and are specifically designed to empower your team with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate upcoming reforms and deliver high quality care.”
Lisa Chugg, Team Leader at Southern Cross Care, says the bootcamp is a wonderful experience.
“I’ve attended training elsewhere, but ACCPA stands out as the best. The 30-minute session format is perfect, and the post session follow up, along with additional reading material is very thorough and useful,” she said.
